Clean-Up Green OS Powder

Clean-Up Green Oil Spill Powder is used for all types of pooling oil spills. It works on hard surfaces such as asphalt, concrete or compacted soil, and also on water.

Cleaning Up Diesel From Hard Surface

Removing Diesel On Water

  • Quickly Turns oil into a non-hazardous silica for safe disposal

  • Environmentally safe - Permanent, non toxic encapsulation

  • Will absorb 10X its weight

  • Powder will only use what it needs to absorb and encapsulate hydrocarbons.

APPLICATION: Spread powder over a spill on water or a hard surface until excess white polymer remains on the surface. Apply by hand or use a hand spreader, blower or other conventional methods for spreading out the powder. You will notice the powder start to work upon contact.

QUICK TIP: Any excess white powder that remains is reusable as it does not absorb any of the hydrocarbons. Simply brush it to the side and return any unused powder to bag.

REMOVAL: The longer the wait time, the greater the absorption and the more solid the polymer will become. The product may be picked up as a rubber-like mat for easy disposal. Excess white powder can be reused. Hydrocarbons and synthetic oils require more time before removal and will form into a softer cluster. In most cases, removal may begin in as few as 5 minutes. For stained surfaces or where the spill has been absorbed into soil or hard surfaces, apply Clean-Up Green Oil Stain Liquid to complete the cleanup process.

QUICK TIPS:

Less product is required than other absorbent products. Powder does not absorb water.

For a large spill, use the powder to make a berm first, to contain the spill and keep it localized in one area. Then proceed to spread powder to the inside of the spill.

Liquid

Clean-Up Green 2 Step OS Liquid

Clean-Up Green Oil Two Step Liquid is used for stains on all surfaces including rock, concrete, asphalt, and wood. It also helps eliminate oil smells.

  • Simple 2 STEP Liquid solution to clean up oil stains and oil odours

  • Works well on old and new stains

  • Works on Rock, Concrete, Asphalt, Soil, Sand, Water, Wood

How to Use the Two Step Liquid

IMPORTANT!  Do not pre-mix STEP 1 & STEP 2 together in advance. Apply individually one at a time to the stain or spill.

APPLICATION:

1. Have the entire stain come into contact with STEP 1. To apply, pour or spray on a solid surface and rub in with a hard bristle brush or broom. For spills in soil or sand, use a rake or shovel to aggregate the entire area to make contact with STEP 1.

2. Apply STEP 2 in the same manner and rub in using the hard bristle brush or broom. Use a 1 to 1 ratio of both steps. You will notice the liquids harden up and form a grey paste-like mixture once they have been brought into contact with each other on the stain. Odours are eliminated on contact.

3. For best results let the mixture dry into a powder before cleaning up. Stains are lifted once dry. 24 hrs drying time is ideal for most applications.

4. The dry silica powder (sand) is non-hazardous and non-toxic. It can be left on the spill site or swept away and discarded. Repeat process steps if both odour or stain remains - particularly with older more embedded stains.

NOTE: Once dry a white haze may remain on surface where you have applied the liquids which will disappear over time. For pooling oil spills use Clean-Up Green OS Powder.

Spills in soils

Two Step Liquid For Cleaning Contaminated Soil

Spills in soils can be quite problematic as they create toxic conditions and can be very tricky to clean with conventional methods. Spills in soil are common in the agricultural sector and the oil and gas industry. The following highlights best practices for cleaning oil from gravel, sand, and soil.

1. First try to identify and control the source of the spill so no more contaminants enter the soil.

2. Identify the depth to which the spill has reached. You may need to remove the contaminated soil first so that you can ensure that ALL spill affected soil will make contact with the liquid solutions.

3. Generously pour STEP 1 solution over the entire contaminated area, Work the STEP 1 liquid into the soil to ensure it touches all the contaminated soil.

4. In the same way pour STEP 2 over the contaminated area. Do this before STEP 1 has had a chance to dry.

5. Using a rototiller, a shovel, a pitchfork or other gardening tool, ensure that ALL contaminated soil comes into contact with both STEP 1 and STEP 2. This will ensure that all oil contaminants will be micro-encapsulated by the liquids.

6. You may leave the soil in place as the hydrocarbons will have been neutralized and the adverse environmental impact reduced or eliminated.
